I’m honoured to be hosting this month’s Sweet Adventures Blog Hop! The dessert blog hop challenges is such a fun way to share recipes and meet new bloggers.
This month’s theme is *drumroll*: Childhood Favourites
One of my favourite childhood memories is my Mum letting my sister and I choose a special cake for each birthday. I would pour through the Australian Women’s Weekly Children’s Birthday Cake Book and pick out a whimsical cake for my darling mother to bake. My Mum made some amazing cakes with lots of lolly decorations and brightly coloured buttercream icing.
Sharing Teddy Bear Cupcakes with my pre-school pals for my 4th Birthday.
This month’s blog hop is all about sharing one of your favourite childhood sweet treats, but reinventing with an adult twist. Take that classic dessert that you loved as a kid and bring it to the next level. It’s an opportunity to get a little creative. You could deconstruct the best elements and make a more abstract version, like finger bun ice cream. Want to get a little crazy? Make it bigger Willy Wonka style with a super sized Kit Kat. You could also make it really adult by boozing up a classic school yard snack, like a Baileys YoGo.
Your homework for tonight is to think about your favourite childhood treats while watching cartoons way past your bed time.
