You read that heading correctly my friends. Sprinkles Cupcakes have announced they will be opening a 24-hour vending machine that dispenses perfectly frosted fresh cupcakes.

According to their Facebook page, “This automatic cupcake machine dispenses freshly baked cupcakes, cupcake mixes, apparel and even cupcakes for Fido!”

Apparently the Sprinkles Cupcakes vending machine is the world’s first cupcake “automat” (read: vending machine).  Although, I thought they had similarly wacky food vending machines in Japan? You gotta love those crazy ol’ Japanese!

Sprinkles Cupcakes is an institution in Los Angles and has even been credited as being “the World’s first cupcake bakery” – Food Network. Now that’s a big call!

Sprinkles have also announced they will be opening Sprinkles Ice Cream next door to their original Beverly Hills, LA store.

According to a statement provide to LAist, “Our ice cream will be hand-crafted American ice cream using only the finest ingredients, staying in line with the Sprinkles philosopy. Scooped into crisp waffle cones, pressed between fluffy cupcake tops or piled high into sundaes topped with housemade sauces and toppings, Sprinkles Ice Cream shop is back to basics creamery with a Sprinkles twist! Sprinkles Ice Cream will also serve up freshly baked cookies and brownies!”

Mr Sticky and I will be in Los Angeles in July so I will make sure to stuff my face silly with Sprinkles Cupcakes (both vending machine and non-vending machine varities) and Sprinkles Ice Cream and report back.
